9 And behold, Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!” And they came up and took hold of his feet and worshiped him. Our entire faith rests on these beautiful words from Matthew 28:6 He has risen The fact that Jesus rose up from the dead means. 6: He is not here he has risen, just as he said. See, I have told you.” 8 So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. The angel said to the women, Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee there you will see him. 6 He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. We see this especially in Matthew 10:5,6 where Jesus expressly directed His disciples to go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel and not go in the way of.
5 But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 4 And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men. 3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. 2 And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it.
Tell his disciples: like the angel of the Lord of the infancy narrative, the angel interprets a fact and gives a commandment about what is to be done cf. Thank you for supporting this site!ġ Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. 6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Just as he said: a Matthean addition referring to Jesus’ predictions of his resurrection, e.g., Mt 16:21 17:23 20:19. The fact that Jesus was not in the tomb is great news for Christians today. He had risen from the dead like He said He would. In Matthew 28:1-7 we see that Mary Magdalene and the other Mary expected to see a body in the tomb, but Jesus was not there.
